I Dream of Jeannie Complete Series Boxed Set Released November 4th

Yes I Dream of Jeannie Fans, it is true! The complete I Dream of Jeannie series is scheduled to be released on November 4, 2008. You can pre-order your copy on Amazon.com.

By now, many of you already know that I Dream of Jeannie Fans' website has been at the forefront of bringing you the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the DVD releases. We've been fortunate enough to have Patterson Lundquist, the guy who created the DVD cover artwork, giving us information far in advance of any other website. We are very grateful to Patterson for all his help and his contacts at Sony for giving us the "heads-up" on what's been coming.

The 3-D bottle packaging is quite unique. The DVD's are held in a tray at the bottom of the bottle, to access them, you have to uncork the bottle and the front and back panels fold down revealing the DVDs inside.

There are NO reunion movies included in the complete series set as has been reported by other websites. I know this comes as a major disappointment to the fans, especially those who were looking forward to their inclusion, but all hope is not lost. Perhaps Patterson will be able to sway Sony into releasing them as a seperate set?

What is included are a set of collectible trivia cards, written and designed by Patterson. There are a total of 55 cards that contain rare and never-before seen photos and trivia information about each season of the series.

Included in this announcement is a CGI of what the final packaging will look like that was sent out with the press release (found below). We are sharing this photo on a temporary basis because final packaging willl be going to press in two weeks and we will be provided with an ACTUAL photo of the final packaging. So check back for that soon.

Dallas Reunion Planned at Southfork Ranch with Larry Hagman

Grab your cowboy hat, pull up your boots and pour yourself a stiff drink — or two or three — it’s time to join the Ewings for a barbecue at the ranch.

Dallas cast members — including Larry Hagman, Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy — will gather Nov. 8 at Southfork Ranch to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the debut of the show that transformed Big D.

Better yet, you’re invited.

The reunion at the Parker ranch is open to the public, and Dallas fans from around the world are already contacting Southfork, asking if the party is the real deal.

Mr. Hagman, who grew up in Weatherford, said Tuesday he’s excited at the prospect of gathering with Ms. Gray and Mr. Duffy and mingling with fans.

“I may not be able to do the 40th,” Mr. Hagman, 76, said in a telephone interview from California. “Thirty years is pretty good, and the show is still very popular. [I’m looking forward to] seeing people that I know -- and I know a lot of people down there -- and having a lot of fun.”

Organizers call the reunion an intimate once-in-a-lifetime chance for fans. Tickets, which go on sale Aug. 22, will range from $100 to $1,000.

Actor and comedian Bernie Mac dies at age 50

Bernie Mac, the actor and comedian who teamed up in the casino heist caper "Ocean's Eleven" and gained a prestigious Peabody Award for his sitcom "The Bernie Mac Show," died Saturday at age 50.

"Actor/comedian Bernie Mac passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital," his publicist, Danica Smith, said in a statement from Los Angeles.

She said no other details were available and asked that his family's privacy be respected.

The comedian suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body's organs, but had said the condition went into remission in 2005. He recently was hospitalized and treated for pneumonia, which his publicist said was not related to the disease.

Recently, Mac's brand of comedy caught him flack when he was heckled during a surprise appearance at a July fundraiser for Democratic presidential candidate and fellow Chicagoan Barack Obama.

Toward the end of a 10-minute standup routine, Mac joked about menopause, sexual infidelity and promiscuity, and used occasional crude language. The performance earned him a rebuke from Obama's campaign.

But despite controversy or difficulties, in his words, Mac was always a performer.

"Wherever I am, I have to play," he said in 2002. "I have to put on a good show."

Mac worked his way to Hollywood success from an impoverished upbringing on Chicago's South Side. He began doing standup as a child, and his film career started with a small role as a club doorman in the Damon Wayans comedy "Mo' Money" in 1992. In 1996, he appeared in the Spike Lee drama "Get on the Bus."

He was one of "The Original Kings of Comedy" in the 2000 documentary of that title that brought a new generation of black standup comedy stars to a wider audience.

"The majority of his core fan base will remember that when they paid their money to see Bernie Mac ... he gave them their money's worth," Steve Harvey, one of his costars in "Original Kings," told CNN on Saturday.

Mac went on to star in the hugely popular "Ocean's Eleven" franchise with Brad Pitt and George Clooney.

His turn with Ashton Kutcher in 2005's "Guess Who" topped the box office. It was a comedy remake of the classic Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn drama "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?" — with Mac as the black dad who's shocked that his daughter is marrying a white man.

Mac also had starring roles in "Bad Santa," "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" and "Transformers."

Florence Henderson To Be On Dancing With The Stars Season 6

Florence Henderson will be on the next season of Dancing With the Stars. She is most known as Carol Brady on The Brady Bunch, many TV shows, movies, and many TV commericals. Plus appearing in the The Brady Bunch movie as Grandma. She is 74 years old. She has done some dancing on The Brady Bunch in few episodes. Some singing too.

Florence says “I’m determined to be the oldest woman to win this competition.”

WGN America Confirms I Dream of Jeannie

Recent rumors floating around about I Dream of Jeannie being aired this fall on WGN America got my curiosity up, so I contacted the Programming Department at WGN to get the goods for our members.

George at WGN emailed me back and is confirming that WGN America will be airing I Dream of Jeannie for their new fall line-up.

Although times are yet tenative, he did confirm that I Dream of Jeannie will begin airing weekday mornings starting on September 8th. The show will also run on the weekends starting October 4th.

As soon as we can get confirmed times, we will add them to this article, so check back often.

The eighth annual FanSource A Fan Appreciation Weekend will take place Oct. 10 - 12, 2008 at the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn. This year's event features a fund-raiser/tribute dinner honoring the cast of DALLAS series.

This tribute dinner will be a fund-raiser to honor one of the cast members of the series. As this is a surprise, the announcement will be made at the dinner.

Although IDreamofJeannieFans.net already knows who the honored cast member is, we will not spoil the surprise by revealing that too soon. Stay tuned to IDreamofJeannieFans.net in October and we will post who the surprise cast member is the night of the dinner.

The weekend will kick off on Friday night with a screening of the feature film Easy Rider Scarlet Cross, produced by and starring Sheree J. Wilson. This is a limited seating event.

Estelle Getty 'Goldent Girls' dies at 83

Estelle Getty, the diminutive actress who spent 40 years struggling for success before landing a role of a lifetime in 1985 as the sarcastic octogenarian Sophia on TV's "The Golden Girls," has died. She was 84.

Getty, who suffered from advanced dementia, died at about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at her Hollywood Boulevard home, said her son, Carl Gettleman of Santa Monica.

"She was loved throughout the world in six continents, and if they loved sitcoms in Antarctica she would have been loved on seven continents," her son said. "She was one of the most talented comedic actresses who ever lived."

"The Golden Girls," featuring four female retirees sharing a house in Miami, grew out of NBC programming chief Brandon Tartikoff's belief that television was ignoring its older viewers.

Three of its stars had already appeared in previous series: Bea Arthur in "Maude," Betty White in "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and Rue McClanahan in "Mama's Family." The last character to be cast was Sophia Petrillo, the feisty 80-something mother of Arthur's character.

"Our mother-daughter relationship was one of the greatest comic duos ever, and I will miss her," Arthur said in a statement.

When she auditioned, Getty was appearing on stage in Hollywood as the carping Jewish mother in Harvey Fierstein's play "Torch Song Trilogy." In her early 60s, she flunked her "Golden Girls" test twice because it was believed she didn't look old enough to play 80.

"I could understand that," she told an interviewer a year after the show debuted. "I walk fast, I move fast, I talk fast."

She came prepared for the third audition, however, wearing dowdy clothes and telling an NBC makeup artist, "To you this is just a job. To me it's my entire career down the toilet unless you make me look 80." The artist did, Getty got the job and won two Emmys.

"The only comfort at this moment is that although Estelle has moved on, Sophia will always be with us," White said in an e-mail to The Associated Press after Getty's death was announced.

"The Golden Girls" culminated a long struggle for success during which Getty worked low-paying office jobs to help support her family while she tried to make it as a stage actress.

"I knew I could be seduced by success in another field, so I'd say, 'Don't promote me, please,'" she recalled.

"The Golden Girls," which ran from 1985 to 1992, was an immediate hit, and Sophia, who began as a minor character, soon evolved into a major one.

Audiences particularly loved the verbal zingers Getty would hurl at the other three. When McClanahan's libidinous character Blanche once complained that her life was an open book, Sophia shot back, "Your life's an open blouse."

Getty had gained a knack for one-liners in her late teens when she did standup comedy at a Catskills hotel. Female comedians were rare in those days, however, and she bombed.
